About Cafe Arielle

Housed in an old Wireworks Factory and former Silk Mill, Cafe Arielle is a destination restaurant with an underground stream and outdoor garden patio dubbed the “Avant Garden.” The Washington Post described the building as, "Beautifully rebuilt and completely contemporary, it feels urban enough to be in New York or London."

Cafe Arielle and the Stabin Museum are prime examples of creative reuse with dining tables constructed of the silk cutting tables, shelves made of sewing machine cabinets and table legs of pipe from the original heating system. The Avant Garden even features a dramatic sculptural element of recycled bowling balls on the rock outcrop wall. Located on upper West Broadway, Café Arielle provides a unique dining experience in a stunning setting with a beautiful outdoor dining patio, pure and simple café menu, full bar, a children's play area and galleries full of mesmerizing art in the Stabin Museum.

About The Stabin Museum
Red brick and stone facades, an underground aqueduct, an exposed rock wall at the base of the mountain all lend a distinct architectural ambiance to the Stabin Museum and. Throughout its history, the building has been a place for innovation and fabrication and is now inhabited by a contemporary American artist often compared to Dr. Suess, Salvador Dali, and M.C. Escher.

Stabin's work is a world unto its own that defies description. His work is an homage to the arc of art history from the influences of centuries-old Japanese watercolor print artists to contemporary graphic arts. Inspired by many facets of his own life including his family, an interest in the connection between man and nature, water and the water’s edge, The Stabin Museum is sure to connect with visitors of all ages.

Cafe Arielle at the Stabin Museum
Featuring the Art of Victor Stabin
Victor Stabin worked as an illustrator for 25 years with clients - including the  Walt Disney Corporation, The New York Times, Time Magazine, WNYC Public Radio, RCA Records, the US Postal Service (commissioned nine stamps) and he even did an album cover for KISS. After leaving the commercial Art World, he left NYC and moved to Jim Thorpe, purchased and resurrected a 15,000 square ft 140-year-old factory, where for the last fifteen years he's been filling it with his brand of ART.
